OUR STORY

28 Springs is the realization of a long-held dream of local business leaders Shelley & Todd Simmons of a vibrant restaurant in the heart of downtown Siloam Springs. A restaurant with as much character as the community it calls home. 28 Springs opened its doors in the summer of 2012 and quickly made a name for itself within the regional food scene. 

Head Chef Kurt Plankenhorn gravitated to the kitchen while growing up in Conway Arkansas. His interest in the culinary arts landed him is first job at Cassinelli's 1700 in North Little Rock in 1991. His fascination with cooking led him to Charleston, South Carolina, where he attended Culinary School at Johnson & Wales University and worked with some of Charleston's most celebrated chefs. Kurt worked his way across the south before coming home to work again in his native Arkansas. Kurt's cooking is regionally focused and celebrates local, fresh flavors.

28 Springs has participated in Drink the Garden, Fund Your Farmer, W.O.W events in partnership with Crystal Bridges of American Art, Sensory Iconoclasts, was the 2014 World Champion Squirrel Cookoff Champion, hosted the first regional food scene potluck (Foodie Call), and has been featured on KUAF, Arkansas 40/29, Edible Ozarkansas, The Idle Class, Arkansas Wild, The Arkansas Democrat Gazette, The Herald Leader, and Celebrate Magazine.
